MAAC Junior Training - Summer Term

Background 

MAAC Juniors is part of Mid-Atlantic Athletic Club (MAAC), an affiliate of the Bermuda National Athletics Association (BNAA). It provides twice-weekly training sessions for kids ages seven to 18 during the school year (Sept–June) with coach Victoria Fiddick and Assistant Coaches. Sessions aim to introduce young runners to training techniques, enhance fitness, endurance and running ability, and encourage appreciation of the sport, whether for fun or competition. Track sessions are also held in season. Membership for MAAC Juniors is online only and not covered by MAAC Family membership.

Fees and Training groups 

MAAC Jr fees have not been increased for many years and due to operating costs the Club feels it necessary to introduce the fee increase.  The Club strives to improve the experience for our MAAC Juniors and this inevitably comes at a cost. 

Due to the increase in the number of children who have joined MAAC Jrs this year, it is also necessary to rearrange training days according to Primary, Middle and Senior school groups.  This allows the coaches to better tailor the training to the specific age groups and to better manage the number of children.

• Primary school children (7 to 10 years) - fees $60 per term 
• Middle school children (11 to 13 years) - fees $80 per term 
• Senior school children (14 years and over) - fees $100 per term

• Senior School 4:00pm - 5:30pm Arboretum

Tuesday

• Primary School 4:00pm - 5:00pm Arboretum

Wednesday

• Middle School 4:00pm - 5:00pm Arboretum
• Senior School 6:30pm - 7:30pm MAAC Track / or other Coach specifid Training (TBD)

Thursday (No Training)

Friday

• Middle School 4:00pm - 5:00pm Arboretum

Weekends

• Senior School Time & Location to Be Determine as Term progresses.

Please note that some Middle school children may be allowed to train with the Senior school group at the discretion of the coach(es). 

Training schedule 

Training will continue to be at the Arboretum.  The training dates for the rest of the 2017 season are:

• Spring Term:  Friday, 6th January to Friday, 31st March 
• Summer Term:  Tuesday, 18th April to Tuesday, 22nd June
